Our Blog

This year is the first year Love Local STL, LLC has put on 618 Day to celebrate the businesses in the 618 area code. As you probably already know, my goal is to help spread the love for local businesses throughout the St. Louis area and that is how 618 Day began.

I could go on about my love for St. Louis, and specifically the Metro East, but the businesses I am about to highlight say more than I ever could. Every business owner on this list jumped at the chance to support 618 Day by becoming a sponsor. They know and love their community and that is why we need to also support them back.

Gold Sponsors

Whitetail Interior Design

If you have ever watched HGTV and said “we need to hire a designer”, Kayla Campbell is the exact designer you are dreaming of. Kayla and her Husband, are the Chip and Joanna of the St. Louis area and you want them in your house!

They are able to look at any space and imagine your perfect home. They design using their three core elements- Cozy, Clean, Classic. After meeting with them and coming up with a design plan, Whitetail Interior Design will do a virtual walk-through of your newly 3D rendered project. This ensures you love the space and it is exactly what you have envisioned.

We all spent enough time at home this last year to know there are always improvements that could be made. Reach out to Whitetail Interior Design to make your dream home a reality. She will be at the 618 Day Pop-Up event so come chat with her about your remodeling plans.

Gabi & Grace Clothing Co.

You think I support the local community… well you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. Lindsay, Owner of Gabi & Grace Clothing Co., not only puts out extremely cute children’s clothing, but she is a 618 local business cheerleader. She has gone above and beyond to make 618 Day the great event it is.

So now to her clothing… You know the kiddo that walks by and your heart immediately melts? They were probably wearing a Gabi & Grace outfit. She sells all types of adorable clothing and accessories from tops, bottoms, matching siblings, and more. She even has a seasonal line if you’re trying to get a new cute 4th of July outfit.

P.S. don’t miss out on the swimming suits. They are 100%.

Instaglow Spa and Permanent Makeup

Raise your hand if you had a stressful year in 2020. It’s safe to say the next Gold Sponsor is going to be a “must go” for you. Lauren Strickland is owner of Instaglow Spa and Permanent Makeup. This award winning day spa just had a grand opening at their new location in Edwardsville.

Instaglow Spa and Permanent Makeup has a wide variety of services that will take care of anyone’s beauty needs. From the second you step into the new front door, you will know you’re in the right place. Lauren goes out of her way to help everyone feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. If it’s your first time at a spa or you’re a seasoned spa veteran,  you will love it and be treated like royalty.

“In opening the new location, I hope to offer you all of your favorite day spa treatments, including: skincare, massage, permanent makeup, lashes, injections, spray tans and much more!”

They support the 618 small business community in more ways than one. Rise Marketing Solutions are giving back their services and their support for all businesses during this 618 celebration.

Side note- Amber is also the owner of Olive Branch Home Accents. She has some of the trendiest home decor pieces, and lucky for you, she will be at the 618 Day Festival selling all her goods.

Country Financial- Kim Doerr

Insurance is something everyone needs, but finding the perfect agent is not always easy. This Gold Sponsor, Kim Doerr, is not only a great insurance agent, she is a great member of the community. She has supported and served small businesses for over 28 years, and she always gives 100% for each client. I would know since she is my Mother-In-Law and insurance agent.

Kim Doerr

Walking into her office is like walking into your mom’s house. She will help you through your struggles, give you the best options you probably didn’t think of, and probably crack a funny joke. Most likely you have already seen one of the baseball teams she sponsors playing at the local ballpark.

Kim is a born and raised 618 Girl. She loves the community she has served all these years. Reach out and let her help you. She will have a stand at the 618 Day Festival answering questions and raffling a Yeti Cooler. Come see her!

Call- 618-377-9092 and ASK FOR KIM.

Turn Modern

I love love love this veteran owned woodworking business. Jake, Owner of Turn Modern, is one of my close friends and a master of his craft. Just take one look at his cutting boards and you will see he is a perfectionist with his work.

Turn Modern does many woodworking products, but they are known for their end-grain cutting boards. You can do personalized boards with a wood inlay and epoxy river tables. Their high end product will last a lifetime and become an heirloom you can pass on.

Reach out to Jake for any questions!

Silver Sponsors

1818 Chophouse Edwardsville

I am going to tell you right now… You have to eat here. Their food is delicious, the staff is pleasantly helpful, and the environment is everything you were craving for a year in 2020.

One thing that is important to my family is the gluten-free options. High-quality gluten-free food is hard to come, but 1818 Chophouse makes you feel included with their diet accommodating menu.

Oh… did I mention the cocktails and goat cheese. They are unreal and you must try them. So you think you don’t like goat cheese? I dare you to try it and not go back for seconds.

Bank Of Madison County

Working with Bank of Madison County has been such a pleasure throughout the planning of 618 Day. They believe in 618 and the importance of the community they serve.

“Our commitment to client and community service is and will always be at the forefront of everything we do.”

– Bank of Madison Cou

Bank of Madison County is a division of Bank of Belleville. They are located at 100 N. Main, Edwardsville, in the historic Bohm Building.

As their website stated “At Bank of Madison County we are invested in making our community stronger and providing the best experience for our clients. “Smaller Bank, Bigger Service, Stronger Community” is not just a tagline; it’s a promise.”

From my experience this is true. They believe in the local community. They believe in the 618. Everyone I have worked with has gone above and beyond, and that is what you want in a bank. Neighbors that understand you.

Bronze

Crossfit 557

Now, even though the owners of Crossfit 557 are within one week of their baby’s due date, they still managed to get in all the requirements to become a sponsor. Their passion for the community is inspiring to me. They are always looking for a way to help the community in and out of the gym.

“Finding a fitness routine and a gym you love to go to everyday is pretty important (and also pretty difficult). So, instead of bragging about how awesome training at Crossfit 557 will be – we’d rather show you with a free fitness assessment with one of our coaches.”

http://www.crossfit557.com

After a full year of on and off closures, they still managed to keep their Crossfit family happy and healthy. I can’t say enough about these two and their welcoming attitudes. If you ever have a question or are unsure about joining, please reach out. Let them help you.

Crossfit 557 offers a wide variety of classes. They use a WOD method to make the exercises scalable for each person. The workouts can accommodate any participant, but don’t let that fool you. The coaches are right there to make sure you reach your goals.

I can not express how grateful I am and the community should be grateful for these sponsors as well. They are part of the movement to support local businesses and celebrate the beautiful community we have.

Please show them your support by following their social media, sharing their information, or using them for their services.

618 Day is almost here so please join us virtually or in person for the weekend, and for the celebration of the Metro East.
